The Safety and Security Great Britain (S&S GB) declaration, also known as the Entry Summary Declaration (ENS), is a new Customs requirement for all goods imported into Great Britain. This regulation aims to enhance the security of Great Britain’s supply chain and align with global Customs modernization efforts. It mandates the electronic submission of detailed goods information before arrival in Great Britain, supporting risk assessment for safety and security.
Unlike previous UK import procedures, S&S GB requires a unique EORI number issued by UK Customs. Companies importing into both Great Britain and the EU will need to hold separate EORI numbers for each region. In addition, hauliers are now required to submit detailed information about consignments prior to arrival, similar to the EU’s ICS2 ENS regulations.
Hauliers will be responsible for submitting the S&S GB declaration to UK Customs.
Failure to comply will result in delays, penalties, or refusal of entry at the border.
Declarations must be submitted prior to arrival in Great Britain. It is recommended to submit as early as possible to allow time for processing and risk analysis by Customs authorities.
