What’s Happening at Trade Tech and the Market
Trade Tech Launches Redesigned Website in Nine Languages
On June 3, 2026, Trade Tech launched a redesigned website, available in nine languages with additional languages planned. The new site represents the global reach of the Syrinx platform and its integrated multimodal solutions: rate management, transport management, logistics accounting, regulatory compliance, and PO management.
UAE MPCI Deadline Updated as NAIC Extends the Grace Period
The implementation timeline for the UAE’s MPCI filing requirement shifted twice during the first half of 2026. The mandatory date, originally set for March 31, 2026, was moved to June 30, 2026 to give carriers, forwarders, and NVOCCs more time to prepare. As the new deadline approached, NAIC announced a further extension of the enforcement grace period. The filing obligation itself has not changed; what has changed is the interim enforcement approach. During the extended period, NAIC is issuing only Acceptance (ACT) responses and has temporarily suspended requests for Information (RFI) and Do Not Load (DNL) responses, with no penalties applied for late filings.

Survey Finds Readiness Gaps Ahead of UAE MPCI Enforcement
In February, a Trade Tech survey of nearly 400 logistics professionals, conducted between the fourth quarter of 2025 and the first quarter of 2026, found that half of respondents did not fully understand the MPCI requirement despite it having been in effect since August 1, 2025. The survey also found that 67% of respondents had no system to track MPCI filing statuses such as ACT, RFI, or DNL, and 56% had not briefed origin partners or agents on the requirements. “Decades of experience have shown that waiting to invest in proper systems until enforcement begins can leave organizations scrambling to meet requirements under tight timelines,” said Bryn Heimbeck, President and Co-Founder of Trade Tech.
EU’s ICS2 ENS Reaches Full Implementation
The EU’s ICS2 ENS Release 3, postponed for road and rail movements by several Member States through 2025, reached full implementation on June 1, 2026. The last remaining derogations, covering certain road and rail movements into Croatia, Latvia, Poland, Romania, and Slovakia, expired on that date, and ICS1 is no longer accepted for applicable shipments. ICS2 ENS is now fully mandatory across the EU, Northern Ireland, Norway, and Switzerland, for air, ocean, road, and rail freight alike.
New Guide: Managing Global Cargo Security Filing Requirements
In June, Trade Tech published a new ebook, Managing Global Cargo Security Filing Requirements: A Practical Guide for Forwarders, Shipping Lines, and Logistics Teams. The guide covers filing obligations across major ocean trade lanes, including AMS and ISF in the United States, AMS in Mexico, ICS2 ENS in the EU, S&S GB in the UK, MPCI in the UAE, ACI eManifest in Canada, RCG in South Africa, and AFR in Japan, along with the commercial risk forwarders take on when carriers file House Bills on their behalf.
FMC Compliance: Complimentary Consultations Now Available
With Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) enforcement intensifying since the Ocean Shipping Reform Act of 2022, standard violations can now carry penalties of up to US$14,988 per day, and knowing or willful violations up to US$74,943 per day. To help companies evaluate their exposure, Trade Tech is offering a complimentary 30-minute FMC compliance consultation, led by FMC-certified expert Thomas Lloyd. FMC compliance is also integrated into the Syrinx Trade Rates solution, where sell rates to and from the USA are filed automatically, or structured as NRAs, as part of the quoting process.
Update on U.S. Electronic Export Manifest for Ocean Cargo
U.S. Customs and Border Protection issued a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking for an Electronic Export Manifest (EEM) for ocean cargo, which would require advance electronic submission of export manifest data 24 hours before vessel departure. EEM would be used for pre-departure targeting, while Electronic Export Information filed through AES would continue to serve statistical and enforcement purposes. The comment period closed April 13, 2026, and Trade Tech submitted its own comments on the proposed rule. We will keep customers informed as the rulemaking process develops.

The Center for Digital Transformation is a Trade Tech strategic initiative designed to accelerate knowledge, digital adoption, and continuous improvement across our teams and the customers we serve to help navigate the digital transformation of global trade.
Rather than focusing solely on software training, the Center develops a structured learning journey that explains the business challenges facing the transportation, logistics, and supply chain industry, the principles behind Trade Tech’s approach, and how the Syrinx digital platform enables organizations to achieve more predictable, collaborative, and downstream operations from Quote to Cash.
Through progressive learning paths, eLearning content, live interactive sessions, and knowledge assessments, the Center equips learners with the expertise and confidence to understand not only how our solutions work, but why it matters. As the program continues to evolve, this knowledge will increasingly extend beyond our internal teams to support our customers through education, consulting, and digital transformation initiatives.
The Center is being introduced to Trade Tech teams first, with a phased rollout to customers and partners to follow.
